Sun-N-Sand Club Layouts:
The Sun-N-Sand Club is continually extending and improving the layouts to add new
features and detail. The N scale 1:160 size is perfect for including model detail in
a relatively small area. Come view the layout to see multi-track operation with
tressels, bridges, and tunnels blended into curves and straight aways.
The layout models everything from city, to country, to industrial areas. Arizona is the main
theme of the layouts with a prehistoric section added for fun!
Sun-N-Sand public activities include:
Operating an N-scale model railroad exhibit in the park's Model Railroad Building.
Participating in the annual Railfair at the Railroad Park in October.
Participating in the annual Holiday Lights at the Railroad Park in December.
What is N scale? What is N guage?
N scale models in the United States are typically 1/160th of actual size.
Gauge is the distance between the track rails. N gauge track is 0.354" (9mm) between the rails.
Don't worry! You don't have to be concerned about the technicalities of N scale. Just enjoy watching the trains. The club is always seeking new members that have a sincere interest in participating in club activities and running their trains. The club supports both DC and DCC operation of locomotives.
